Breaking into Data Analytics can feel overwhelming — tools, skills, job titles, and certifications everywhere. Let’s make it simple. 1. Build the Core Skills SQL → for querying and cleaning data. Excel → still used everywhere for analysis & dashboards. Data Visualization → Tableau, Power BI, or Python (Matplotlib, Seaborn). Basic Statistics → averages, probability, hypothesis testing. 2. Practice on Real Data Use Kaggle or StrataScratch datasets. Create 2–3 projects: customer churn, sales dashboard, A/B test analysis. Publish your work on GitHub or LinkedIn. 3. Build a Portfolio Recruiters want to see your work. A simple portfolio = resume + GitHub + 1–2 dashboards online (Tableau Public / Power BI). 4. Get Experience (Even Small) Volunteer to build dashboards for a local nonprofit or student group. Offer to clean & visualize data for a small business. Projects = experience if you explain impact. 5. Apply + Network Target entry-level analyst roles : Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Reporting Analyst. Join data communities & attend webinars — referrals matter as much as applications.
