I finished a Cybersecurity Bootcamp — how do I find jobs and show real experience on my resume?

1. Start with Entry-Friendly Roles Look for titles like SOC Analyst I, IT Security Analyst, Incident Response Intern, GRC Analyst (Junior) . Apply widely, but network harder than you apply — connect with recruiters, alumni, and cyber meetups. 2. Build Hands-On Projects Use TryHackMe, HackTheBox, LetsDefend, Blue Team Labs → then write bullet points like: “Completed 30+ SOC investigation scenarios using Splunk & Wireshark to detect phishing and malware.” Projects = “experience” when written with action verbs + measurable results. 3. Volunteer or Contribute Offer to secure a nonprofit’s website, church, or student group (basic hardening, monitoring). Join open-source security projects (OWASP, GitHub). Adds credibility + teamwork. 4. Tailor the Resume Put “Cybersecurity Projects” right under education/certifications. Example bullets: “Implemented IAM policies in AWS to restrict access for a simulated cloud environment.” “Analyzed 500+ log entries to identify suspicious behavior in SOC labs.” 5. Stay Interview-Ready Be able to say: “Here’s what I learned in the bootcamp, here’s how I practiced it hands-on, and here’s how I’d apply it in your environment.”
