Let me say something that might change how you approach your job search completely. check the video recording of the session. Most people are doing exactly what they were told: Apply more. Fix your resume. Wait for responses. And yet… nothing happens. Why? Because you’re playing in the most crowded part of the market . 🧊 The Job Market is an Iceberg What you see: Job boards LinkedIn applications Career pages What you don’t see: Referrals Direct conversations Opportunities before they’re posted 👉 The problem is not your skills 👉 The problem is where you're looking ⚙️ Here’s the System That Actually Works After a powerful session in our community, this is the framework every job seeker should understand: 1. 🎯 Define Your Target Stop applying everywhere. Pick: Role Industry Company type Clarity = speed 2. 🔍 Find Signals (Not Random Outreach) Don’t message blindly. Look for: Companies hiring New funding Tech stack you know 👉 This gives you a reason to reach out 3. 👥 Reach the Right People Not just HR. Think: Hiring manager CTO Founder 👉 That’s where decisions happen 4. 💬 Write Smart Messages Most people say: “I’m looking for a job” Instead: Show you did research Connect to their situation Offer value Ask a simple question 👉 You’re starting a conversation, not begging for a job 5. 🔁 Play the Numbers Game This is where most people quit too early. 10 messages → nothing 100 messages → traction 1000 messages → pipeline Consistency beats talent here. 💡 Final Truth The people landing jobs faster are not always better. They just: Target better Reach out smarter Stay consistent longer If you’re tired of applying and waiting… Maybe it’s time to stop chasing jobs and start creating opportunities . 🔍 1. The Core Truth Most Job Seekers Miss “97% of job applicants fail—not because they’re not good, but because they’re using the wrong channel.” What this really means: Job boards = high competition, low visibility Everyone is doing the same thing → you become invisible Even strong candidates get ignored The shift: 👉 Stop thinking: “How do I apply more?” 👉 Start thinking: “How do I become visible before I apply?” 🧠 2. The “Iceberg Strategy” (This is the biggest takeaway) The job market works like this: Top 10% (visible): LinkedIn jobs Company career pages Bottom 90% (hidden): Referrals Direct outreach Conversations before jobs exist 👉 Most people compete at the top 👉 Smart candidates operate below the surface 🎯 3. The 5-Step System (Your New Job Search Engine) This is the most actionable framework from the session: 1. Define a Target (NOT “any job”) You must get specific: Role → DevOps, Data Analyst, etc. Industry → SaaS, fintech, healthcare Company size → startup vs enterprise Geography → remote or specific market 👉 Without this, everything else breaks 2. Find a Signal (THIS is where 90% fail) Instead of random outreach, use triggers : Examples: Company raised funding Hiring for similar roles Using a tool you specialize in Growing team 👉 Why this matters: It answers “Why are you messaging me?” 3. Find Decision Makers (Not just HR) Target: Hiring manager CTO / Director Founder (startups) Sometimes CFO (for cost roles) 👉 This is where decisions happen 👉 HR is just a filter 4. Write a Smart Message (THIS is everything) Most people fail here. ❌ Bad message: “I’m looking for a job” “Here is my CV” “Please refer me” ✅ Strong message structure: Hook (signal-based) Relevance (why you) Value (what you solve) Low-friction ask Example from session: Refer to AWS usage Show cost reduction value Ask a simple question, not a job 👉 You are not asking for a job 👉 You are starting a conversation 5. Convert the Conversation Don’t rush to “Can we meet?” Build trust first Move step by step 👉 This is relationship building, not transactions 📊 4. The Numbers Game (Reality Check) “Sending 10 messages won’t get results—you need hundreds.” What this means: Outreach is probability, not luck Expected reply rate: ~10% So: 10 messages → maybe 1 reply 100 messages → real pipeline 1000 messages → predictable results 👉 The winners are not smarter 👉 They are more consistent and systematic ⚙️ 5. Tools = Leverage (But Not the Strategy) Tools mentioned: Apollo → find contacts Clay → enrich data BuiltWith → detect tech stack LinkedIn automation tools Important insight: 👉 Tools don’t create results 👉 Targeting + messaging does Also: LinkedIn can restrict accounts if misused Value > volume always 💬 6. Why Most Outreach Fails From the session, the real reasons: Messaging wrong person Generic copy paste No clear value Too long No follow up 👉 The biggest one: You talk about yourself, not them 🔁 7. Follow-Up is Non-Negotiable Most people: Send 1 message → stop Reality: You need 2–3 follow-ups minimum 👉 People are busy, not ignoring you 👉 Follow-up = professionalism 🧩 8. Multi-Channel Strategy (Smart Execution) Best approach: LinkedIn → higher reply rate Email → higher scale 👉 Combine both: Message on LinkedIn Follow up via email T
