Interview Prep

Your Monday Interview Could Go Wrong Before You Even Open Your Mouth

Most candidates spend Sunday night picking out clothes and reviewing their resume. Smart candidates do something completely different.

If you have any interviews lined up this week, here is your Sunday night prep checklist. Research the interviewer on LinkedIn — not just their title, but their career path, recent posts, and mutual connections. Find one specific thing about the company's last 90 days (a product launch, a funding round, a new partnership) and prepare a question about it. That single question signals more preparation than 90% of candidates bring.

Then practice your opening out loud. Not in your head — out loud. Record yourself answering "Tell me about yourself" in under 90 seconds. Most people have never actually heard themselves answer this question, and it shows. The candidates who rehearse out loud sound polished, not because they are scripted, but because they have eliminated the filler words and nervous rambling before the real thing.

Need help with mock interviews or feedback on your answers? That is exactly what this community is for. Drop a comment if you have an interview this week — let us help you prepare and crush it. And if you want structured support, check out the free Career Discovery Call at futurecareer.com/enroll to talk through your strategy with a real person.
